Spring Concerts - March 2010
The Choir: Arms Open Wide
The concerts, featuring special guests Thom Allison, Stephanie
Martin and Jackie Richardson, will take place on March 19 and
20 2010.
Under the direction of Diane Leah, this forty member choir
has gained a reputation as one of the most dynamic and diverse
singing groups in the city. They have performed at corporate
events, The Festival of Lights (at City Hall) and numerous
fundraising events in addition to their weekly dedication to
providing great music in church. In December 2009, The Choir
will be featured at the Olympic Torch Relay Ceremony at Nathan
Phillips Square.
In the 10 years that Music Director Diane
Leah has been working
at Metropolitan Community
Church of Toronto, The Choir has
released two CDs: House of Love (2003) featuring Louise Pitre
and The Choir: Connected (2006) with Thom Allison, Alana Bridgewater
and Julie Michels. These two CDs continue to attract listeners
from all over the world due to an artful marriage of great
music with a compelling spiritual message.
