Acapulco Photos – Part 1
We will be adding photos to this gallery as the days pass and once the Choir Members return from General Conference held in Acapulco Mexico, so check back often to see new additions! Many of the Choir members and MCC Toronto staff are taking pictures and will be supplying them as the days go by. Thanks to all of them for “forgiving us in advance” if we “borrowed them” from other places like Facebook!
Conference Concert – Video
It’s already here! The Choir’s archival video of the Opening Concert at General Conference – direct from Acapulco, Mexico.
Special Thanks to Kevin Coutu for providing it so quickly.
Opening Day of Conference

The Choir did a fabulous Pre-Worship Concert for the Opening Day of the UFMCC General Conference.
Conference deligates from around the world attended the concert, which was webcast live around the world via the church’s website, www.mcctoronto.com.
The Choir Rehearsal began at 10am, and prep and soundchecks continued all day, with about an hour break for getting dressed. Everyone at the Conference was talking about the Opening Concert and there was an official buzzzz in Acapulco! Everyone, including the Choir, were excited and looking forward to The Choir’s concert and Opening Worship Service at the Conference!
The Choir (along with Julie Michels and Stephanie Martin) did MCC Toronto, and Canada for that matter, proud!
And just in case you couldn’t tune in, or just simply want to watch it again you can view the concert online now! If you didn’t tune in, definitely watch the video, they were outstanding!
Mexico – Arrival
The temperature when they arrived in Mexico was about 88˚ but they were happy to have arrived. Most of the Choir left in the darkness of the morning, around 3:30 or 4 am for their early 7:30 flight. The video below shows the bus pulling into the hotel and the Choir arriving safe!

Off To Mexico

Why did our Choir go to General Conference in Acapulco?
MCC Toronto is one of the largest churches and a leader within the MCC fellowship. We have responded to the scriptural challenge that “to whom much is given, much will be expected”. We have shared our rich resources generously – including most recently senior roles and accountabilities assumed by Rev. Dr. Brent Hawkes, and John Vespa who serves on the Board of Administration, Jo Bell’s leadership in the development and implementation of the Creating a Life that Matters curriculum and Rachel Meyer’s work with MCC youth.
Euchre Tournie Photos
Since September 2009, the Choir has been fundraising for their trip to Mexico and the UFMCC General Conference. The Lone Hand Euchre Tournament – Friday Night Series was born in the backyard of Music Director, DIane Leah, with choir member Heather Magee and her partner Romelda Morson. Five nights, 64 players, door prizes, player prizes, simple food – hot dogs and chips, and a cash bar. That was the original idea. Raise some money for Mexico. Original fundraising goal: $10,000.
